Bridget’s earliest memories are of Brazil, where she grew up with Carnival, Tropical Jungle, and Passionate People. It was a natural progression for her to attend Art College achieving a BA (Hons) in Jewellery Design, at The Central School of Art and Design. Later, wanting to paint more Bridget moved on to teaching Art and Design at Secondary Schools. Now a mother of two sons, she owns a gallery adjacent to her home, Spindrift in which she sells her own paintings and the work of other Artists. Using a variety of media, her work celebrates natural themes creating emotive and lively images. |

Recent works include portraits of the Masai who she met last summer on a trip to Kenya. Their fragile survival in the future really touched her and she came back to paint a series entitled ‘Will the meek inherit the Earth?’ “The irony is that it is the very races that live in such sympathy with the planet that are the ones most threatened by so called progress” says Bridget. Spindrift Gallery is open Monday’s, Wednesday’s and Friday’s, throughout the summer 10 - 3 pm |
